How To Lead Your Family
In this article, we will discuss the importance of being a resilient disciple of Jesus and how it can impact your life and the lives of those around you. We will also explore the power of sharing your story and how it can inspire others to seek a relationship with God. Additionally, we will touch on the significance of building a legacy for future generations and the role of the church in reaching the Next Generation. This blog is based on the message from yesterday.
Being a Resilient Disciple
Being a resilient disciple means fully committing to following Jesus and living out your faith in every aspect of your life. It means showing up with joy and passion, even in difficult circumstances. As Christians, we have the freedom to live a life that is not bound by our current circumstances because we have the hope of eternity with God. Christianity is not about oppression or restriction; it is about finding true freedom in Christ.
Sharing Your Story
One of the most powerful ways to impact others is by sharing your story of what God has done in your life. When we share our testimonies, we should focus on how God has worked in our lives and give Him all the glory. It is important to remember that there is no such thing as a boring testimony. Whether our past was filled with dramatic events or seemingly ordinary, the fact remains that God has taken us from death to life. We were all dead in our sins, and through Jesus, we have been made alive. This transformation is something to be celebrated and shared with others.
God Wants to Use Your Story
God wants to use each and every one of us to reach different people with the message of His love and grace. Often, we think that it is the responsibility of pastors and church staff to reach others for God. However, the truth is that the church is at its greatest capacity when every single person uses their gifts to make a difference. We are all called to be ambassadors for Christ and to share His love with those around us. By sharing our stories, we can inspire others to seek a relationship with God and experience the same transformation that we have.
Building Resiliency
In order to be a resilient disciple, we must resolve to make it through the challenges and trials that come our way. The enemy will try to attack us and make us doubt the work that God is doing in our lives. It is important to write down all that God is doing in our lives and remind ourselves of His faithfulness. By doing this, we can stand firm in our faith and not be swayed by the enemy's lies. Resilient disciples trust in the authority of the Bible, are committed to Jesus personally, and desire to transform society through their faith.
The Role of the Church in Reaching the Next Generation
Statistics show that evangelism has decreased in the United States, and one of the reasons for this is that we often rely on pastors and church staff to reach others for God. However, the church is not about the talents of a few individuals, but rather the collective effort of every member. Resilient disciples are not just attendees of a worship service, but actively engage with their church by serving, giving, and being plugged in. They understand the importance of building a strong foundation for the Next Generation.
Psalm 78 reminds us of the responsibility we have to pass on our faith to the Next Generation. We are called to share the praiseworthy deeds of the Lord and teach our children about His power and wonders. By doing so, we can instill in them a trust in God and a desire to follow Him. Peak parenthood is not about material possessions or worldly achievements, but about raising children who know and love Jesus.
The vision for Purpose Church is to build a lasting legacy for our children, grandchildren, and future generations. We want to create a place where people can come to know Jesus and experience His life-changing power. This is why we desire to have a permanent location, to establish a presence in the community and reach more people with the message of the Gospel. Our goal is not just to see our church grow, but to see the Kingdom of God expand.
To fully reach our city and beyond, we need more churches. With a population of over 100,000 people in Goodyear, having only 15 churches is not enough. We need resilient disciples who are passionate about building the Church and reaching others for Christ. Imagine the impact we can make if there were 500 churches, each reaching 200 people. We want to be a part of this movement and ask God to move in our church and in our city.
As we leave today, we have three options. We can choose not to follow Jesus and continue living life our own way, but this will ultimately be the biggest regret of our lives. We can also choose to follow Jesus in a half-hearted way, missing out on the fullness of what He has for us. Or, we can go all in for Christ, being resilient disciples who prioritize building God's kingdom over our own. We can invest our time, talents, and resources for God and leave a legacy for our children and grandchildren. When we get to heaven, there will be people who come up to us and thank us for our investment in Purpose Church because it is where their lives were changed.
We are thankful for Jesus and His sacrifice for us. He lived an obedient life to God so that we could be set free. We are also thankful for the early followers of Jesus who were persecuted for their faith and paved the way for us. We are standing on their shoulders today, and we have the opportunity to do the same for future generations.
Every church has two options when it comes to the Next Generation. We can be like Joshua's generation, who did incredible things during their time but failed to pass on their faith to the next generation. This resulted in a generation that did not know the Lord or what He had done. We do not want this to be our church, our children, or our grandchildren. We want to be a church filled with resilient disciples who are passionate about building a church and a place for their kids and grandkids to love Jesus.
Let us pray and surrender to God, asking Him to make us resilient disciples who are committed to following Him with everything we have. We lift up every person in this room and pray for our kids and grandkids to know and love Jesus. May our church be a place where people come to know God, and may we be a part of building His Kingdom.
Conclusion
Being a resilient disciple of Jesus means fully committing to following Him and living out our faith in every aspect of our lives. It means being passionate about building God's kingdom and leaving a legacy for future generations. We have the power to impact others by sharing our stories and inspiring them to seek a relationship with God.
