The Cry Of The Heart
In this article, we will continue exploring the topic of revival and the principles of moves of God. One of these principles is the importance of getting our hearts right with God. Proverbs 23 tells us that whoever conceals their sin does not prosper, but the one who confesses and renounces finds mercy. It is crucial that we bring our hearts before God and allow Him to search us, revealing any areas of sin or offense that need to be dealt with. This blog is based off yesterday's message which you can watch here.
The modern world often promotes a lukewarm culture where the bar for being a Christian is set low. However, God is looking for people whose hearts are fully His, who are willing to surrender everything to Him. In 2 Chronicles 16:9, it says that the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth to strongly support those whose hearts are fully His. God desires to pour out His strength, power, and blessings on those who are wholeheartedly devoted to Him.
To experience revival, we must prepare a place in our hearts for God to come and dwell. This means aligning our hearts with His standards and surrendering any idols or lesser loves that may be competing for our affection. It requires a willingness to let God perform surgery in our hearts, removing any sin, bitterness, or pain that may be hindering us from living with a healthy soul.
Sometimes, we may try to conceal our sin or live multiple lives, but Jesus calls us to bring our sin into the light. He wants to heal our wounds, replace our pain with His mercy and grace, and fill us with His love and power. This process may involve moments of conviction and confession, but it leads to freedom, joy, and a deeper relationship with God.
In Psalm 139, the psalmist prays, "Search me, God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me and lead me in the way everlasting." This is a prayer we can echo as we invite the Holy Spirit to search our hearts and reveal anything that needs to be addressed. We can cast down our idols, confess our sins, and ask God to replace them with His unfailing love and calling on our lives.
Revival happens when a group of people come together with hearts fully devoted to God. It is a place where God's presence dwells, His power is evident, and lives are transformed. As we surrender ourselves to God and seek His heart, we become vessels for His glory and blessings. We become a church that catches fire and impacts the world around us.
So, let us take this opportunity to bring our hearts before God. Let us ask Him to search us, reveal any areas that need to be addressed, and lead us in the way everlasting. May we be a people who are serious about the things of God, joyfully surrendering our lives to Him and experiencing the fullness of His love, joy, and power.
